After studying Political Science in Spain, Ribeira travelled and worked in several European countries. In 2008 she moved to Barcelona to study Photojournalism and began a project of participatory photography in collaboration with FIAS (Fundació per la Innovació i la Acció Social) consisting of photography of women in prison through a series of workshops. In 2009 she worked as a press photographer for the regional newspaper, El Progreso. In 2012 she moved to Newport, South Wales, to start studying Documentary Photography.
